Unlike the earlier days, this was not about covering many places\u2014it was about <strong data-start=\"814\" data-end=\"848\">wrapping up the journey calmly<\/strong>, keeping health and time in mind.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"889\" data-end=\"917\">Planning the Night Before<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"919\" data-end=\"974\">On the night of Day 5, we loosely planned Day 6 around:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"977\" data-end=\"1027\">Visiting <strong>Kamakhya Temple<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1030\" data-end=\"1089\">Possibly visiting <strong>Umananda Temple<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1091\" data-end=\"1165\">We were aware that time would be limited, so nothing was fixed in advance.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1172\" data-end=\"1198\">A Slow Start to the Day<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1200\" data-end=\"1392\">The day started late because my wife was not feeling well and had a severe headache. After breakfast, we began the day around <strong data-start=\"1326\" data-end=\"1337\">9:30 AM<\/strong>, accepting that we would do only what felt manageable.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1399\" data-end=\"1435\">Umiam Lake: Short, Unhurried Stop<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1437\" data-end=\"1530\">Since <strong>Umiam Lake<\/strong> was nearby, we decided to stop there briefly.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1437\" data-end=\"1530\">We spent <strong data-start=\"1541\" data-end=\"1559\">about one hour<\/strong> walking around the lake area. The riverfront itself was not pleasant due to uncleanliness, but this is where boats depart for Umananda Temple. We did not take the boat ride and left after understanding how the process works.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2138\" data-end=\"2162\">Kamakhya Temple Visit Experience<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2164\" data-end=\"2257\">From the riverfront, we headed to <strong data-start=\"2198\" data-end=\"2217\">Kamakhya Temple<\/strong>, which is approximately <strong data-start=\"2242\" data-end=\"2256\">12 km away<\/strong>.\u00a0We reached the temple around <strong data-start=\"2288\" data-end=\"2299\">1:45 PM<\/strong>. Although we had spoken to a Pandit earlier, he asked us to proceed on our own.\u00a0Surprisingly, the entire <strong data-start=\"2406\" data-end=\"2457\">Kamakhya Temple visit took only about 1.5 hours<\/strong>, and we exited around <strong data-start=\"2480\" data-end=\"2491\">3:15 PM<\/strong>. Ending the Trip<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2718\" data-end=\"2839\">After leaving the temple, we headed straight to <strong>Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport<\/strong> and reached around <strong data-start=\"2827\" data-end=\"2838\">4:00 PM<\/strong>.\u00a0The airport was extremely crowded, and queues were long, but we eventually completed all formalities and boarded our flight.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2972\" data-end=\"3003\">Final Takeaway from the Trip<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3005\" data-end=\"3068\">This marked the end of our <strong data-start=\"3032\" data-end=\"3067\">six-day Assam\u2013Meghalaya journey<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3070\" data-end=\"3113\">The biggest lesson from the trip was clear:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"3116\" data-end=\"3180\"><strong>Meghalaya requires time, physical effort, and flexible planning<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3182\" data-end=\"3311\"><strong>Trying to rush through places only adds fatigue<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3182\" data-end=\"3311\"><strong>Adjusting plans based on health and energy made the journey far more manageable<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3313\" data-end=\"3462\">This trip, documented through <strong>Lazy Yatra<\/strong>, reflects real travel\u2014honest decisions, limited energy, and realistic pacing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Day 6 of Our Assam\u2013Meghalaya Trip: Umiam Lake, Kamakhya Temple Visit Experience &amp;
