Orchid Lake Resort Umiam Review (Loghut Room Experience)<\/h1>\n

Among all the stays during our Assam\u2013Meghalaya journey, Orchid Lake Resort<\/strong> was the best resort experience<\/strong> we had. We stayed in the highest category room \u2013 the Loghut Room<\/strong>, and this review is based on a one-night family stay<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Room Experience \u2013 Loghut Room<\/h2>\n

The Loghut Room<\/strong> was extremely spacious<\/strong>, roughly 300\u2013400 sq. ft.<\/strong>, making it the largest and most comfortable room we stayed in during the trip.<\/p>\n

  • Large king-size bed<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Extra mattress was better than standard size<\/strong> (approx. 4\u00d76 ft instead of 3\u00d76)<\/li>\n
  • Room was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Overall room ambience was pleasant<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Being a government-run property<\/strong>, there were a few limitations:<\/p>\n

    • The washroom had a mild odor issue<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Despite this, room comfort remained excellent.<\/p>\n

      Location & Ambience<\/h2>\n

      The resort is located right on the edge of Umiam Lake<\/strong>, which naturally enhances the experience.<\/p>\n

      • Open lake views<\/li>\n
      • Peaceful night stay<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The location alone adds significant value to the stay.<\/p>\n

        Staff & Service<\/h2>\n

        Staff behavior was cooperative and responsive<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

        One specific experience stood out:
        My wife had a severe headache in the morning and needed to take medication. We requested something light to eat, and the staff served cookies immediately without charging anything extra<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

        Service was prompt and courteous throughout our stay.<\/p>\n

        Food & Breakfast Experience<\/h2>\n

        Breakfast was served as an unlimited buffet<\/strong>, which was the best breakfast experience of our trip<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

        Items included:<\/p>\n

        • Aloo cutlet<\/li>\n
        • Bread, butter, jam<\/li>\n
        • Tea, coffee, milk<\/li>\n
        • A few additional items<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          While the variety was not very large<\/strong>, the buffet was unlimited<\/strong>, and food quality was good.<\/p>\n

          The restaurant is lake-facing<\/strong>, which made breakfast even more enjoyable.<\/p>\n

          Price & Value for Money<\/h2>\n

          The Loghut Room is on the expensive side<\/strong>, but considering:<\/p>\n

          • Location<\/li>\n
          • Comfort<\/li>\n
          • Breakfast quality<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            \u2026it still felt like good value for money<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

            We paid around \u20b95,000<\/strong>, which felt reasonable for the overall experience.<\/p>\n

              Orchid Lake Resort is an excellent choice if:<\/strong><\/p>\n

              • You want a spacious, comfortable resort stay<\/strong><\/li>\n
              • You value lake views and peaceful surroundings<\/strong><\/li>\n
              • You are okay with minor limitations of a government property<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                For us, the Loghut Room stay at Orchid Lake Resort felt luxurious<\/strong>, comfortable, and was easily the best resort stay of the entire trip<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
