Kaziranga Resort – Honest Review After a One-Night Stay

We stayed at Kaziranga Resort on the first night of our Assam–Meghalaya trip. We arrived late at night, stayed for one night, and left after breakfast. This review is based on that exact use case.

Property Overview

Kaziranga Resort is a mixed-format property with:

• A large open lawn
• Cottage-style rooms
• Regular hotel rooms inside a building

The overall property looks pleasant from the outside, mainly because of the open ground. Since we arrived late, we did not use any common facilities.

Room Experience

Room quality was basic.

• Clean room
• Functional furniture
• Average bedding
• No comfort or resort-like feel

This is a room meant only for sleeping, not relaxing.

Bathroom

• Clean
• All basic toiletries provided
• Nothing premium or problematic

Breakfast & Food Quality

Breakfast was heavy in quantity, average in quality.

Items served included:

• Parathas
• Pooris
• Sabzi
• Bread, butter, jam

The parathas felt maida-based, and after eating and travelling for a few hours, the food felt heavy, causing mild discomfort.

Location

• Around 2–3 km from Kohora Gate
• Convenient for jeep safari

Location is decent but not critical, as safari vehicles usually pick up guests directly from the resort. For elephant safari (Bagori Range), the distance would still be around 10–12 km.

Cleanliness & Family Suitability

• Rooms were clean
• No hygiene issues
• Quiet at night
• Suitable for families

Value for Money (Biggest Strength)

This is where the resort performs well.

• Room comfort: average
• Price paid: reasonable
• Cleanliness: good

For a late arrival + early checkout, the pricing felt fair.

• You’re arriving late and leaving early

• You want comfort-driven rooms
• You plan to spend time inside the property
• You expect a resort-style stay experience

For our purpose, the resort served its function well, but nothing more.
