Escapade Inn Cherrapunji Review (Our Best Stay of the Trip)

Among the four stays we experienced during our Assam–Meghalaya journey, Escapade Inn stood out as the best stay of the trip. This review is based on a one-night family stay and reflects why this place left a lasting impression on us.

Overall Experience

Escapade Inn felt homely, comfortable, and well-managed from the moment we checked in. While it was slightly more expensive compared to our other stays, the quality of rooms, service, and overall comfort fully justified the price.

As economy travellers, this stay felt premium without being excessive.

Rooms & Cleanliness

• Rooms were well-furnished, neat, and clean
• Washroom was exceptionally clean and well-maintained
• Bedding quality was excellent
• The room had a private balcony

The balcony was a highlight. There were no nearby buildings or houses, making it a quiet place to sit and enjoy uninterrupted views of the horizon.

Food & Restaurant Experience

The in-house restaurant serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food.

• Food quality was very good
• We had Maggi in the evening, which was cooked properly and tasted great

If you are strictly opposed to eating at a mixed kitchen, this may not work for you. In that case, Cherrapunji has two reliable pure vegetarian options:

• Orange Root
• Green Leaf

Breakfast

Breakfast was simple but sufficient:

• Paratha
• Toast
• Butter

Though limited, it was better than what we received at some of our earlier stays and worked well for a travel day.

Staff & Service (Biggest Strength)

Service at Escapade Inn was exceptional.

• Staff responded to requests within 2–5 minutes
• Milk for our child was boiled promptly, without hesitation
• Coffee and milk supplies were replenished immediately when requested
• Staff attitude was consistently polite and supportive

Their responsiveness added significantly to the comfort of our stay.

Value for Money

While the tariff was on the higher side, the experience matched the pricing.
For travellers who value cleanliness, comfort, and service, Escapade Inn offers excellent value for money.
