Nesting Abode Homestay, Cherrapunji – Honest Review
We stayed at Nesting Abode Homestay on Day 3 of our Assam–Meghalaya trip. This review is based on a one-night family stay, and it was the least satisfying stay of our entire journey.
Property & Facilities
Nesting Abode is a true homestay, but in a very basic sense.
Facilities were limited to:
- One room
- One washroom
- Geyser for hot water
There were no additional amenities.
No common facilities, no dining area, and no usable kitchen for guests.
Food & Breakfast (Major Drawback)
- No breakfast facility
- No food service
- Milk was not available
When we purchased milk outside for our child, there was no facility to boil or heat it. After repeated requests, we were allowed to use their kitchen, but only after hesitation.
This was inconvenient, especially while travelling with kids.
Room & Bedding
- Room quality was okay
- Room was clean
- Washroom was average and not very comfortable
The extra mattress was extremely poor in quality.
Although they provided two mattresses to compensate, comfort was still not good.
This is an area that needs serious improvement.
Staff Behaviour
This was the best part of the stay.
- Staff was polite
- Readily available when requested
- Tried to help within their limitations
Location
- Location was average
- Neither particularly convenient nor scenic
- Nothing notable, positive or negative

Final Verdict
Nesting Abode Homestay is suitable only if:
- You need a basic place to sleep
- You don’t expect food or breakfast
- You are okay with minimal facilities
Not recommended if:
- You are travelling with kids
- You need food or milk arrangements

For us, this was the least enjoyable stay of the trip and did not meet expectations for the price paid.
