Krabi sightseeing starts with the city tour
A City Tour in Krabi is the best way for tourists to get acquainted with the culture, attractions, temples, river, and markets in the city. Thus, tourists can not only see the beaches and islands but also explore the life of this unique Thai city. The duration of the city tour varies from 4 to 6 hours, depending on the number of attractions that you wish to visit. You can make your city tour last for a half of the day and include a night market tour as well.
The list of the main attractions that you can visit during your Krabi City Tour:
- Ao Nang Beach: This is one of the most visited places in Krabi, famous for its scenic beaches, limestone cliffs, longtail boats and vibrant nightlife. Tourists can relax at the beach cafes and restaurants, do some shopping and enjoy the stunning sunsets.
- Wat Kaew Korawaram: It is a major Buddhist temple found in Krabi Town with beautiful white structures, peaceful surroundings, and impressive staircase. Tourists can visit the temple to understand the Thai culture. Visitors should dress in modest clothing covering the shoulders and knees.
- Khao Khanab Nam: It is a combination of two beautiful limestone mountains that are near the Krabi River. Tourists can go on a tour of the Krabi River in longtail boats to view the limestone mountains.
- Shell Cemetery (Susan Hoi): It is also called Fossil Shell Beach, is an interesting geological feature located near Ao Nam Mao. It is famous for its fossils of shells that are estimated to be about 75 million years old. Tourists can visit the formation and admire the coastal views.
- Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea): This temple is one of the most popular religious landmarks of Krabi. Tourists can admire the golden Buddha statue and view the surrounding scenery from the top of the mountain by climbing 1,237 steps. Wearing comfortable shoes and bringing some drinking water is recommended.
- Krabi Night Markets: There are a great place for trying traditional Thai cuisine, shopping and entertainment. Maharaj Walking Street is open mostly on Friday-Sunday and offers a wide variety of street food, crafts and souvenirs. Chao Fah Pier Night Market is another great option for eating Thai snacks and seafood and drinking juices in the evening. Timing should be checked in advance.
Best for: families, couples, culture enthusiasts and first-time visitors.

Krabi 4 Island Tour
Krabi 4 Island Tour is one of the most popular tours in Thailand which allows tourists to visit four island destinations during one day. This tour lasts about 6-8 hours, starting usually from Ao Nang Beach or a nearby pier. Tourists have two options to travel – by longtail boats or speedboats.
The tour includes four picturesque islands:
1. Poda Island: It is well-known for its white sand beaches, crystal clear waters and beautiful limestone rock formations. Its one of the main features is a big limestone rock located in the sea next to the shore. People can swim in the sea, relax on the beach, take pictures and just enjoy this peaceful place.
2. Chicken Island: It got its name because of the unique limestone rock formation resembling a chicken’s head and neck. This place is one of the most photographed places in Krabi. The waters around the island are good for snorkeling when tourists can see the tropical fish. The boat can stop near the island for photography and snorkeling, but not always landing.
3. Tup Island: One of the most remarkable features of Tup Island is the natural white sand path which appears during low tides. This phenomenon is called Talay Waek and means “parted sea”. During low tides, a sandbar connects Tup Island with Chicken Island and Mor Island, thus, people can walk across these islands. At high tides, the path disappears under water, thus, the whole process is totally dependent on the weather and tides.
4.Phra Nang Cave Beach: It is one of the most picturesque beaches of Railay. The beach is located between limestone cliffs and is characterized by white sand, blue water and Princess Cave. The cave is surrounded by legends and contains offerings made by local fishermen. Visitors have an opportunity to rest on the beach and swim, explore the cave and take photos.
Things to Do on 4 Island Tour: There are a number of things to do that include snorkelling, swimming, relaxing at the sandy beaches, enjoying natural sandbars, and taking photos of the Andaman Sea. This tour is popular with couples, families, and adventurers.
Duration of tour: It takes approximately 6-8 hours.
Ideal for: Couples, families, beach lovers, photographers, and adventure seekers.
Some important travel tips: Fees for national park entrance, lunch, snorkelling gear, and transfers from hotels depend on the package you choose. Make sure you bring sunscreen, swimsuit, towel, sunglasses, and waterproof case for your phone. Boat schedules and stops at the islands may vary depending on weather and sea conditions.

Krabi Jungle Tour – Emerald Pool & Hot Springs
Krabi Jungle Tour is an excellent tour for people who are interested in exploring the tropical rainforests of Thailand, its natural pools and hot springs. This tour, which is off the beaten path and not on the beach, is a daylong tour that normally lasts from 7 to 9 hours.
The main places of interest included in the jungle tour are:
- Emerald Pool (Sa Morakot): The Emerald Pool is one of the best natural attractions of Krabi, situated within the Thung Teao Forest Natural Park. The pool is surrounded by beautiful tropical vegetation and famous for its emerald-green natural freshwater. One can have a swim in the pool, relax in the water and take pictures of the surrounding forests. It is recommended to wear water shoes, because some of the rocks could be slippery.
- Blue Pool (Sa Nam Phut): It is yet another wonderful natural attraction that is only a short distance away from Emerald Pool. It is noted for the blueness of the water, which provides an impressive contrast against the greenery of the forest around. Swimming is not allowed at this pool, unlike in Emerald Pool, since it is a natural spring protected by law. Visitors can admire the surroundings and take pictures at the viewing point.
- Khlong Thom Hot Springs: It is a popular tourist attraction where naturally warm mineralized water flows through rocks in the forest. Small pools and areas resembling waterfalls where people can bathe in peace and quiet await tourists. It is quite refreshing after walking through the forest. Do not stay in the hot water for too long, especially with children and older tourists.
- Thung Teao Forest Natural Park: This Natural Park is a tropical rainforest, which is well-known for its lush vegetation, shaded trails, and natural biodiversity. People can take nature walks through the park while seeing different species of birds, butterflies and various tropical plants. The place also houses the Emerald Pool and the Blue Pool; thus, it forms an important part of the jungle tour.
Activities on the Jungle Tour: Nature walks, swimming in Emerald Pool, bathing in natural hot springs, wildlife watching and taking photos.
Suitable for: Families, couples, nature enthusiasts, photographers and tourists seeking some peace outdoors.
Travel tips: Begin early to get some time at the pools without crowds. Bring swimwear, towel, comfortable walking shoes, insect repellent, drinking water and spare clothes.

Does Krabi Have Tiger Park?
There is no known Tiger Park in Krabi. The famous Tiger Parks are found in Phuket and Pattaya, not Krabi. If you plan to travel to Phuket while in Thailand, you can visit our guide on Phuket Sightseeing. If you plan to visit Pattaya, visit our Pattaya Sightseeing Guide. When choosing a tiger park in Thailand, it is also essential to think about animal welfare and safety issues. Activities like hugging tigers, taking photos and feeding cubs may pose risks.
As reported by World Animal Protection, some of the tiger tourism facilities in Thailand have been linked with poor animal welfare practices. Travellers should choose ethical wildlife parks where visitors can observe animals from a distance. Tiger Park should not be confused with the Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea), which is also found in Krabi. As the name suggests, this is a Buddhist temple and not a wildlife attraction. This temple is known for its religious caves, golden Buddha statue and difficult staircase to an amazing viewpoint.
More Places to Visit in Krabi
In case you have another day in Krabi, there are some other beautiful places you may consider visiting outside the city itself, and in addition to the island and jungle tours. There are other chances for beach, kayaking, hiking and photography here.
- Railay Beach: One of the most beautiful coastal areas in Krabi that is surrounded by impressive limestone cliffs and blue water. Railay Beach can be reached only by boat and is known for swimming, sunbathing, rock climbing and beach views. It is a place for couples and adventurers.
- Hong Island: This Island is known for its green lagoon, white beaches and clear water. You can swim, snorkel, kayak and relax on the coast of this beautiful island.
- Ao Thalane: It is a beautiful natural spot famous for its mangrove forests, limestone cliffs and waterways. Exploring the peaceful mangrove waterways by kayaks is the main attraction of this place where one can even see some caves and local wildlife.
- Dragon Crest Mountain: Its another name for Khao Ngon Nak, which is a good choice for hikers who can enjoy the beautiful view of green forests, limestone hills and the coastline of Krabi from the mountain.

A Simple 3-Day Krabi Sightseeing Plan
Three days are enough to explore Krabi’s major attractions, enjoy island adventures and experience its beautiful tropical forests. Here is a simple itinerary covering the main sightseeing experiences.
Day 1: Krabi City Tour and Night Market
Start with Ao Nang Beach to enjoy beautiful coastal views and limestone cliffs. Visit Wat Kaew Korawaram, Khao Khanab Nam and Shell Cemetery to explore Krabi’s cultural and natural attractions. If time permits, include Tiger Cave Temple for its golden Buddha statue and panoramic views. End the day at a local night market to enjoy Thai street food and shopping.
Day 2: Krabi 4 Island Tour
Enjoy a full-day boat excursion covering Poda Island, Chicken Island, Tup Island and Phra Nang Cave Beach. Spend your time swimming, snorkelling, relaxing on sandy beaches and capturing beautiful photographs. If the tide is low, you can also experience the famous Talay Waek sandbar connecting nearby islands.
Day 3: Krabi Jungle Tour
Explore Krabi’s tropical rainforest with visits to Emerald Pool, Blue Pool and Khlong Thom Hot Springs. Enjoy swimming in Emerald Pool, admire the deep-blue water of Blue Pool and relax in natural hot springs. You can also visit Thung Teao Forest Natural Park and add Tiger Cave Temple if time and energy allow.
Travel tip: Keep Day 2 flexible because island tours depend on sea conditions. If rough weather causes cancellations, swap the island tour with the jungle tour to make the most of your holiday.
Tips before you go

- Ferries: For island ferries, the same source suggests one-way tickets. It keeps your plans easy to change.
- Temples: Dress modestly and cover shoulders and knees.
- Boats: Longtail boats feel traditional. Speedboats save time. Pick based on budget and comfort.
- Booking: Reserve popular tours early in busy months to get the timing you want.
