Port Blair - Baratang Excursion - Havelock - Drop to Airport

On arrive at Port Blair, you will be escorted to check in to the Hotel. Freshen up at the hotel. Start city tour (Usually we start it after lunch for all the guests), in this we will cover the following: National Memorial Cellular Jail (Opens at 9:30 and closes at 4:00 PM) - Time Required - 1 Hour Approximately (Guide to be Hired at your own cost) Carbyns coves beach. (Always Open) - Time Required - 2 Hours or more Sound and Light Show at Cellular Jail (7:30/8:30 PM Hindi Show, & 9:30 English or Hindi Show) - Show timings - 50 Minutes to an hour Overnight stay at respective Hotel / Resort at Port Blair. (Day visit to Cellular Jail remains closed on Monday)

Start early from Port Blair for a full-day excursion to Baratang Island, known for its mangrove forests, limestone caves, and proximity to the ancient Jarawa tribal reserve.

 

Important Travel Information:

• Departure is required as early as 6:00 AM to reach the Baratang Check Post (Barrier).
• The barrier opens at 7:30 AM for the controlled convoy movement.
• The route passes through a restricted forest zone, home to the Jarawa tribe, considered one of the oldest tribal communities in the Andaman Islands.
• For safety reasons, vehicles move only in convoys and are not permitted to stop in the tribal reserve area.
• Photography or interaction with tribals is strictly prohibited.
• Carry sufficient water and light snacks due to limited options en route.

 

Upon reaching Baratang Island, you will proceed for sightseeing.

Sightseeing in Baratang:

• Limestone Caves

1. Board a shared speed boat to reach the cave area.
2. Enjoy a scenic journey through dense mangrove tunnels.
3. From the drop point, walk to the million-year-old limestone caves.
4. The boat sailor usually acts as a local guide, explaining cave formations.

• Mud Volcano (Optional, if time permits): On an additional cost. A natural geological formation where cold mud bubbles due to underground gases.
• Mangrove Boat Ride: A beautiful cruise through unspoiled mangrove forests leading to the limestone cave trail.

 

After completing your sightseeing, return to Baratang jetty and join the return convoy to Port Blair by evening.

Your exciting day begins in Port Blair as you prepare for a journey to the idyllic Havelock Island. Head to the jetty for your ferry departure. The picturesque ferry ride from Port Blair to Havelock Island typically covers a distance of approximately 57 km and takes around 1.5 to 2.5 hours, depending on the type of ferry and sea conditions. Enjoy the expansive views of the Andaman Sea as you cruise towards your destination.

 

Upon arrival at Havelock Island's jetty, you'll be transferred to your pre-booked accommodation. After checking in and settling down, it's time to explore the island's most famous gem.

 

Your afternoon on Havelock Island will feature:

• Radhanagar Beach (Beach No. 7): Renowned as one of Asia's best beaches, Radhanagar captivates with its pristine white sands, turquoise waters, and lush green forest backdrop. Spend your time swimming, sunbathing, or simply walking along the shore, marveling at its breathtaking beauty. The sunsets here are particularly spectacular, offering a perfect end to your afternoon.

 

As evening approaches, you'll have the remainder of the day at your leisure. You may choose to relax at your resort, explore local eateries for a delightful dinner, or simply unwind and reflect on the day's experiences on this enchanting island paradise.

 

Note: Any sightseeing will be visited only once during the entire travel even if it is mentioned multiple times in the itinerary. In addition, no alternative sights or compensation will be arranged for the same.

Later transfer to Port Blair Jetty. If any sights are remaining, from Day 1, and you have sufficient time, then we would visit the same today.
