Srinagar Airport Pickup - Drop at Hotel

On arrival at Srinagar Airport, meet and greet our representative who will assist with your transfer to the hotel. The airport is located about 12 km from the main city centre, and it takes approximately 30–40 minutes to reach your accommodation, depending on traffic.

 

Enjoy the pleasant drive as you pass through the scenic Boulevard Road, lined with majestic Chinar trees and overlooking the serene Dal Lake.

 

Upon arrival at your hotel or houseboat, complete check-in formalities and relax. You may spend the rest of the day at leisure, soaking in the beauty of Srinagar or taking a short walk along the Dal Lake promenade.

Sonamarg Excursion

After breakfast at your hotel/houseboat in Srinagar, proceed for a full-day excursion to Sonamarg, famously known as the “Meadow of Gold.” The distance between Srinagar and Sonamarg is approximately 100 km, and the drive takes around 2 ½ hours one way through beautiful countryside, Sindh Valley, and pine forests along the Sindh River.

 

Sonamarg Sightseeings:

  • Thajiwas Glacier: The most famous attraction of Sonamarg, located about 3 km from the main market. It is reachable only by pony ride or local union cab. Pony Ride Cost: ₹800 – ₹1,500 per person (round trip, negotiable - Cost vary quite a lot, so the figure suggested may not work during your visit.). Local Cab Cost: ₹1,500 – ₹2,000 per cab.
  • Zero Point (Baltal): Located near the Zojila Pass at 11,500 ft, offering snow even in summer months.
  • Access: Local union cab from Sonamarg taxi stand. Approx. Cost: ₹5,000 – ₹7,000 per cab (round trip).
  • Baltal Valley: Base point for the Amarnath Yatra; scenic stop en route to Zero Point.
  • Sindh River Viewpoint: Perfect spot for photography or light refreshment breaks.

 

Local Taxi Union Rule:
Taxi vehicles from Srinagar cannot go beyond Sonamarg main parking. For visiting Thajiwas Glacier, Zero Point, or Baltal, travellers must hire a local Sonamarg union cab available near the taxi stand.

Today marks your return to Srinagar from Pahalgam, with a day dedicated to exploring the local charm of Srinagar.

 

Begin your day with a final leisurely breakfast in Pahalgam. Ensure you have completed any last-minute souvenir shopping or a brief stroll by the Lidder River. Check out from your hotel in Pahalgam.

Embark on your journey back to Srinagar. The distance between Pahalgam and Srinagar is approximately 90 km, and the drive typically takes around 2.5 to 3 hours.

 

As you travel towards Srinagar, enjoy the picturesque landscapes. While there are no major designated sightseeing stops directly en route that require a significant detour, the drive itself offers beautiful views of the Kashmiri countryside.

Before heading to the airport, you may stop at Lal Chowk or nearby local markets for authentic Kashmiri products. Do not take recommendation from the drivers, Rather try to find the shops where Kashmiri's are purchasing for themselves. Try 2-3 shop before finalizing the product.
