Begin your day with an early start from Port Blair, completing your hotel checkout. It's advisable to finish any last-minute sightseeing in Port Blair before commencing this long but rewarding travel day.
Your adventure first takes you from Port Blair to Baratang Island. This leg of the journey covers approximately 105 km and typically takes around 3.5 to 4 hours, including the necessary ferry crossing and convoy through the protected Jarawa Tribal Reserve. Please note the convoy timings are fixed and must be adhered to.
En route, experience the natural wonders of Baratang:
- Limestone Caves: A fascinating geological formation reached by a thrilling boat ride through mangrove creeks, followed by a short trek through the jungle.
- Mud Volcano: Witness this small, natural phenomenon where semi-liquid mud and natural gases are emitted from the earth.
After exploring Baratang and perhaps grabbing a local lunch, you will continue your journey towards Diglipur. The second leg, from Baratang to Diglipur, spans approximately 90 km and requires another 3 to 3.5 hours of scenic driving.
