Gujarat 8 Days 7 Nights Tour Itinerary: Ahmedabad to Diu via Dwarka & Somnath
Arrive At Ahmedabad and Head to Dwarka
After arrival at Ahmedabad Airport, meet and greet our representative who will assist with your transfer. Begin your journey towards Dwarka, one of the most revered pilgrimage destinations in India. Dwarka is approximately 440 km from Ahmedabad and takes around 8–9 hours by road.
If preferred, you may take a stopover in Rajkot (approximately 215 km / 4 hours from Ahmedabad) to break the journey. After a short rest or overnight halt in Rajkot, continue your drive to Dwarka (around 225 km / 4.5 hours from Rajkot).
En route Sightseeing:
Swaminarayan Temple, Rajkot – A beautifully designed temple reflecting Gujarat’s architectural and spiritual heritage. (If taking a direct drive to Dwarka, en route visits can be limited to save time.)

After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Dwarka and visit the Dwarkadhish Temple. Begin your drive towards Porbandar (Approx. 145 km / 3–3.5 hrs).
Porbandar Sightseeing:
- Kirti Mandir – Birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi, showcasing his life and legacy.
- Sudama Temple – A unique temple dedicated to Sudama, a childhood friend of Lord Krishna.
Continue your drive to Somnath (Approx. 280 km / 5–5.5 hrs).

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed towards Sasan Gir, the renowned wildlife sanctuary and the only abode of the Asiatic lions in India.
Sasan Gir is approximately 45 km from Somnath, taking around 1.5 hours by road.
At Sasan Gir:
- Gir National Park Jeep Safari – Enjoy an adventurous wildlife safari through the Gir forest, home to over 600 Asiatic lions, leopards, deer, and numerous bird species.

Permit & Booking: Safari permits can be booked online at https://girnationalpark.in or via the official forest department portal. ₹800–₹1,000 per person (shared jeep basis) or ₹5,000–₹6,000 per private jeep (up to 6 persons), excluding guide and camera charges. Carry ID proof used for booking and reach the entry gate at least 30 minutes before your slot.
After the safari and exploration, drive back to Somnath by evening.

Cover the Somnath Sights and later Head to Diu
Begin your day early in Somnath by completing the remaining sights before checking out of your hotel. Somnath is renowned for its spiritual and historic significance, so make sure to experience the essence of the city fully.
Must-visit sights in Somnath before departure:
- Somnath Temple – An iconic Jyotirlinga shrine, rebuilt majestically on the Arabian Sea coast.

After completing your sightseeing and hotel checkout, embark on the drive to Diu, which is approximately 90 km and takes around 2.5 hours. The route is scenic, hugging the coastline and offering glimpses of rural Gujarat.
Upon arrival in Diu, check in to your hotel and prepare to explore the charming island town famed for its Portuguese heritage and pristine beaches.
