The distance from Jaipur to Jaisalmer is approximately 570 kilometers, and the drive typically takes around 9 to 10 hours.

We recommend an early start from Jaipur to make the most of your day on the road and allow for comfortable arrival in Jaisalmer.

Upon arrival in Jaisalmer in the late afternoon or early evening, check into your hotel. After a long day of travel, you might wish to relax and refresh. Depending on your arrival time and energy levels, here are a few suggested activities for your evening:

Evening in Jaisalmer:

• Gadisar Lake: A tranquil artificial lake that once served as the sole water source of Jaisalmer. Relax by the ghats, especially beautiful during sunset. Its historical chattris and temples reflect in the water, creating a picturesque scene.
• Jaisalmer Fort (Exterior view and surrounding markets): While a full exploration of the fort requires more time, an evening stroll around its base allows you to soak in the magnificent golden glow of the fort against the twilight sky. The bustling markets outside the fort come alive in the evening, perfect for a glimpse into local life and perhaps some souvenir shopping.
• Local Dinner: Indulge in traditional Rajasthani cuisine at one of Jaisalmer's rooftop restaurants, offering stunning views of the illuminated Jaisalmer Fort.

Jaisalmer Local Sightseeing

Begin your day in the enchanting city of Jaisalmer, known as the "Golden City" for its stunning sandstone architecture. Since your start and end point are the same, no travel distance or time is involved today.

In the afternoon, make your way to the Jaisalmer Desert Camp located just outside the city, approximately 15 km away, about a 30-minute drive. The camp offers a quintessential Thar Desert experience.

The drive from Jaisalmer to Mount Abu spans approximately 420 km and takes around 8 to 9 hours by road. This scenic journey crosses the vast Thar Desert and transitions into the Aravalli hills near Mount Abu.

After a fulfilling drive, arrive in Mount Abu, the only hill station in Rajasthan, known for its cool climate and scenic beauty. Check into your hotel and prepare to explore the local attractions.

• Dilwara Jain Temples: Stunning marble temples renowned for their intricate carvings and peaceful ambiance.
• Nakki Lake: A serene lake surrounded by hills, perfect for boating and relaxing walks.
