Local Sightseeing in Katra - Vaishno Devi Temple Visit and Leisure Day
Welcome to Katra! Today is dedicated to exploring the local charm and enjoying some relaxation within the town itself.
Begin your day with an early morning visit to the revered Vaishno Devi Temple. This spiritual pilgrimage is the heart of Katra and offers a profound experience. Allow ample time for the darshan and the journey to the temple. After returning, enjoy a hearty breakfast at your hotel.
Following breakfast, take a leisurely stroll through the bustling local markets of Katra. This is a perfect opportunity to pick up some souvenirs, local handicrafts, and religious items. Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere and interact with the local vendors.
For lunch, savor the authentic flavors of Jammu and Kashmir at a local restaurant. Enjoy regional specialties and experience the local cuisine. After lunch, head back to your hotel for some downtime. You can relax in your room, enjoy the hotel amenities, or perhaps indulge in a short nap.
As the day cools down, consider a visit to a nearby viewpoint for panoramic views of the surrounding Shivalik hills. This offers a peaceful setting to reflect on your day. Alternatively, enjoy a relaxed evening at your hotel, perhaps with a cup of tea, soaking in the tranquility of Katra.

Pick up Katra Vaishno Devi Darshan (E) - Journey to the Sacred Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine
Your day begins early in Katra, the base camp for this spiritual trek. After a quick breakfast, prepare for the ascent to the holy cave.
The trek to the shrine is approximately 13 kilometers and is a significant part of the pilgrimage experience. You can choose to walk, hire a pony, or use the helicopter service (if pre-booked and available) for parts of the journey.
En route to the Shrine:
- Banganga: A holy stream where pilgrims take a purifying dip before proceeding.
- Adkuwari: A cave believed to be the meditation spot of Mata Vaishno Devi.
- Himkoti: Offers scenic views and resting points.
Upon reaching the shrine, immerse yourself in the divine atmosphere. Spend time offering prayers and seeking blessings from Mata Vaishno Devi. The darshan itself is a profound spiritual moment.
After your darshan, begin your descent back to Katra. The journey down offers a different perspective of the Trikuta Mountains. Take your time, reflecting on the spiritual experience.
Arrive back in Katra in the evening, concluding your spiritually enriching pilgrimage to the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine. This day is dedicated to devotion and the sacred journey.

Embark on a breathtaking drive from Katra to Patnitop, a journey renowned for its stunning natural beauty and opportunities for adventure. This scenic route promises a delightful escape into the heart of the Himalayas.
Begin your day in Katra. After enjoying a final breakfast in the city, ensure you have completed any remaining desired sights in Katra before commencing your journey.
The drive from Katra to Patnitop is approximately 86 km and will take around 2-3 hour to complete.
En route, you can soak in the views of:
- The winding roads offering panoramic vistas of the Shivalik range.
- The lush green valleys and occasional glimpses of local villages.
Upon arrival in Patnitop, check into your accommodation. The rest of your day is dedicated to exploring the charm of this serene hill station.
- Naag Temple: A historic temple dedicated to the serpent god, offering a glimpse into local culture.
- Patnitop Park: Stroll through this well-maintained park, perfect for a leisurely walk amidst nature.
- Sanasar (Optional, if time permits): Known as the "mini-Switzerland of Jammu," it offers opportunities for paragliding and zorbing for the adventurous.
- Kud: A small town en route to Patnitop, famous for its delicious 'Patisa' (a sweet delicacy).

Begin your day with a final, invigorating walk amidst the pine-covered hills of Patnitop. Enjoy a hearty breakfast at your hotel, savoring the crisp mountain air one last time. Ensure you have completed any last-minute souvenir shopping or enjoyed a final panoramic view.
After breakfast, complete your hotel checkout in Patnitop. You will then embark on your journey towards Jammu. The distance between Patnitop and Jammu is approximately 110 km, with an estimated travel time of around 3 hours.
Enroute Sightseeing:
While the primary focus is reaching Jammu for your flight, the drive offers glimpses of the changing landscape. There are no major designated sightseeing spots directly enroute that require a significant stop, allowing for a more direct transfer.
Upon arrival in Jammu, proceed directly to the Jammu Airport for your flight. This allows ample time for check-in and security procedures, ensuring a smooth departure.
Note: Each sightseeing spot will be covered only once during the itinerary, even if mentioned multiple times.

- Vehicle heater charges or any additional air-conditioning charges, wherever applicable.
- Emergency evacuation, rescue, or medical assistance expenses.
- Travel and medical insurance.
- Expenses of a personal nature, including laundry, telephone calls, room service, minibar, beverages, shopping, porterage, tips, and similar personal expenses.
- Tourist permits, entry fees, or other government charges not specifically included in the package, except Inner Line Permit (ILP) where expressly mentioned.
- Personal medicines, medical kits, oxygen cylinders, or any other medical equipment.
- Flight tickets, train tickets, or any other mode of transportation unless specifically included in the quotation.
- Camera, video camera, drone, or photography charges levied at monuments, sightseeing attractions, or other locations.
- Any item, service, activity, meal, ticket, or expense not specifically mentioned under the Package Inclusions.
Domestic Travel
- 50% of the total package cost for the confirmation.
- Remaining Amount to be paid 30 Days Before the travel date

- Payment Policy will vary wrt (Though it would be communicated before booking otherwise domestic payment policy will be applicable.)

Land Package Cancellation Charges
- More than 30 Days before Travel - 15% of the total Package cost. Hotel /Cruise /Ferry cancellations/ retentions would be additional to the service charges of Cancellation.
- More than 15 Days and Less than 30 days Before Travel – 50% of the Package cost.
- Less than 15 Days / No Show – 100% of the Package cost.
- Travel Dates Between Dec 10 - Jan 20 – 100% of the Package cost (No cancellation entertained at this time)
Flight Cancellation Charges
- Individual Airline's and respective tickets have Cancellation Policy printed. Respective Cancellation Policy will be applicable in every case.
- Applicable only In case of Genuine Reason for Postponing the trip with Valid documents. Postponement would not be possible within a week of travel dates.
- Credit for Maximum 9 months would be Provided.
- Any Cancellation charges(Cruise/Flight/vehicle cancellation & Hotel Retention) would be deducted from the credit amount.
- Rate Differences (It could be any amount great than or equal to ZERO), as per the new travel date, would be additional at the time of booking.
- Company's Service Charges would be Zero.
- A traveler can change the destination and increase/decrease/change the travelers, however minimum package cost must be equal/higher to postponed package cost.
- A traveler can allow other traveler to use the credits before expiry.
- Any confirmed postponed trip, can not be cancelled/refunded further for any known and unknown reasons. If you are not a frequent traveler, please request cancellation only.
- Coordinate with Airline Flight changes/amendments/cancellations/credit-shell.
- In case of postponement, dates must be informed minimum 45 days before travel.
Things to Know before Travelling to Kashmir/Jammu
- Pre-Paid Sims will not operate in Jammu and Kashmir.
- Post Paid Sim with approved KYC are must. (As informed by a guest.)
- Gandola Ride must be booked in Advance at-least 21-30 days before travel.
Union Related Issues and Information
- Vehicles are Non AC, Heater and AC if required will be provided on additional cost.
- AC/Heater, in the vehicle, would cost INR 300/- Per Day additional(as of Jun, 2024. In future cost may change.).
- Due to Local Taxi Union Srinagar taxies are not allowed from base of Pahalgam, Sonamarg and Gulmarg.
- Pahlagam - Aru, Betaab and Chandanwari Valley costs additionally. Rates are listed on the display at the taxi stand.
- Sonmarg sightseeing i.e. Thajwash Glacier and Fish Point charges are additional. Rates has to bargained and discussed with drivers. There are No fix rates at Sonamarg.
- Gulmarg sightseeing - There is nothing much to see here except enjoying the world tallest Gandola/Ropeway, yet if you want to enjoy small sights then local vehicle has to be hired at an additional cost.
- Please consult other services at the point and confirm the rates with our driver before stepping out of the vehicle. Driver can not interfere once you have stepped out.
- Due to Snow Fall, if Taxi Vehicle with Tyre's cannot travel to Gulmarg, Traveller has to hire another vehicle from Tangmarg. It would be hired on an additional cost.
Houseboat Related Updates
- Houseboat are sharing based. Basically one room is assigned in a single houseboat.
- Houseboat are generally colder than Hotels, and services on the houseboat must not be compared to the hotel services.
- These are boats anchored to a platform.
- Heaters are generally not provided Free of Cost in houseboats.
- Houseboat owner shifts the guest to another houseboat (Of his own Group).
- To reach to the houseboat, Shikara Person must be informed in Advance.
- Guest must need to inform us or houseboat staff (Number provided in the voucher.) 30-40 minutes before reaching to the Lake to reduce any inconvenience at the ghat. If you are not comfortable to speak to them, please inform our team to communicate with the vendors.
- In Summers area around houseboat may have bad odor as houseboat floats over still water.
- We operate purely as a service provider and coordinate services as per the confirmed itinerary.
- Driver duty hours: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM. A day is calculated from 00:00 to 23:59 (Calendar Day). If night driving is requested (8:00 PM – 6:00 AM), the driver must be given a minimum 8-hour rest. A ₹400–500/night allowance may apply. Night driving is neither recommended nor included in the package.
- Vehicle Usage: Vehicles operate strictly as per the confirmed itinerary (point-to-point). Additional pickups, drops, or usage beyond the itinerary will be chargeable. Vehicles will only travel on roads considered safe by the driver, irrespective of Google Maps.
- Air Conditioning: AC may not function in hilly regions or when the vehicle is stationary.
- Vehicle Type: Standard Innova vehicles are generally 10–12 years old. Guests seeking a newer vehicle should opt for an Innova Crysta.
- Parking: Parking charges are included only once for sightseeing attractions. Parking at hotels, malls, cinemas, markets, or similar places is not included.
- Hotels: Check-in/out timings vary by hotel (generally between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM). Early check-in and late checkout are subject to hotel availability and policies.
- Changes & Availability: Trip dates, hotels, or itinerary may change based on availability. Any additional cost due to such changes shall be borne by the guest. Extending or shortening a confirmed trip may not always be possible.
- Unused Services: No refund will be provided for unused hotel stays, sightseeing, transport, or other services for any reason.
- Cancellations & Force Majeure: We are not responsible for cancellations, delays, or itinerary changes caused by weather, natural calamities, political disturbances, strikes, festivals, traffic, flight cancellations/rescheduling, overbooking, road closures, entry restrictions, or other force majeure events. Such situations may attract 100% cancellation charges from hotels, transporters, and other service providers.
- Sightseeing: Museums and monuments may remain closed on national holidays or for maintenance. No compensation or refund will be provided for missed visits due to such closures.
- Vehicle Confirmation: Vehicle details will be shared before confirmation. Any preference or objection should be communicated before booking.
- Personal Belongings: Guests are solely responsible for their belongings. We are not liable for any lost or forgotten items.
- Insurance: We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance to protect against last-minute cancellations, medical emergencies, and other unforeseen events.
- Jurisdiction: Any dispute related to the booking, payment, voucher, refund, or services shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the company's registered office. If no objection is raised within 48 hours of receiving the voucher, it shall be deemed accepted along with these terms and conditions.
- Hotel bookings are done with your Name. Sometimes agency names may differ.
- If required, lunch and dinner restaurants can be advised accordingly.
- Make sure you are aware about the prices of the services that you are using. As few hotels charge heavily for their services. Just bargain for things before even using them.
- If you are reaching late in the evening, please call the hotel. Sometime hotels release the booking if they are not informed about your delay.
- Please ask check-out time of the hotel. Make sure to check out as per guidelines. It may reduce headaches.
- As soon as you enter the hotel, make sure to ask the facilities (with the prices if any) available in the hotel to utilize them best.
- Enjoy the wilderness. Leave only footprints and take only photographs.
- Do not enter the National Parks without permission.
