Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Pick up from Chandigarh || Head to Shimla

Representative shall pick you up from Airport/ Bus Stand/ Railway Station. The journey from Chandigarh to Shimla covers approximately 113 km and takes around 3.5 to 4 hours by road, depending on traffic and weather conditions.

 

Upon arrival in Shimla, check in at your hotel and take some time to refresh.

Explore the following attractions in Shimla:

  • The Ridge – The heart of Shimla town with open spaces and views of the surrounding mountains.
  • Mall Road – The main shopping street filled with cafes, shops, and colonial architecture. (Vehicles are not allowed)
  • Jakhoo Temple – Situated on Jakhoo Hill, this temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and offers stunning views. (Vehicle may not stopped way before the temple.)
  • Christ Church – One of the oldest churches in North India, known for its neo-Gothic architecture.

Spend your evening strolling along Mall Road, enjoying local cuisine at a cozy café, or simply soaking in the cool hill station ambiance.

Day 2

Visit Shimla & Kufri Local Sights

Today, embark on a delightful exploration of Shimla and Kufri, experiencing the best of their local attractions.

 

Begin your day with a leisurely breakfast at your hotel in Shimla. After checking out, you'll head towards the picturesque hill station of Kufri, renowned for its stunning natural beauty and adventure activities.

  • Himalayan Nature Park (Kufri): Explore this vast park, home to a diverse range of Himalayan flora and fauna, offering a glimpse into the region's rich biodiversity.
  • Mahasu Peak (Kufri): Take a short trek or a pony ride to the summit for breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding snow-capped mountains and verdant valleys.

After soaking in the charm of Kufri, you will drive back to Shimla.

Shimla To Sarahan

Shimla to Sarahan: A Scenic Journey

Today's journey takes you from Shimla to Sarahan, a distance of approximately 170 km, with an estimated travel time of around 6-7 hours.

En route, enjoy the following sights:

  • Narkanda: A picturesque town offering stunning views of the Himalayas and known for its apple orchards.
  • Hatu Peak (optional detour): If time permits and weather is favorable, a short detour to Hatu Peak offers panoramic vistas.
  • Rampur: A historic town situated on the banks of the Sutlej River, with notable temples and a vibrant market.

Upon arrival in Sarahan, check into your accommodation. Sarahan is renowned for its serene beauty and the magnificent Bhimakali Temple complex.

Sightseeing Trip from Chitkul to Kalpa - Explore Kamru Valley, Kamru Fort & Sangla Village

Embark on a breathtaking scenic excursion from Chitkul to Kalpa, exploring the enchanting Kamru Valley, the historic Kamru Fort, and the picturesque Sangla Village.

 

Begin your day in Chitkul, the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibetan border. After a leisurely breakfast, check out from your hotel. Ensure all desired sights in Chitkul are covered before departing.

 

The journey from Chitkul to Kalpa is approximately 80 km and will take around 4 - 4.5 hours of driving time.

En route, you will explore:

  • Sangla Village: A charming village nestled in the Baspa Valley, known for its traditional Kinnauri architecture and apple orchards.
  • Kamru Fort: A historic fort located near Sangla, offering panoramic views of the valley and housing a temple dedicated to Kamakhya Devi.

Kalpa to Tabo - Scenic Journey through Nako and Desert-Mountains

After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Kalpa. Before departing, ensure that any remaining sightseeing in Kalpa is completed, as no sights will be revisited. Begin your adventurous drive towards Tabo, entering the spectacular cold-desert landscapes of Spiti Valley.


The distance between Kalpa and Tabo is approximately 165 km, and it would take around 6 to 8 hours to reach by road, depending on road conditions and sightseeing stops.

 

During the journey, witness the gradual transition from the lush green valleys of Kinnaur to the barren Himalayan desert terrain of Spiti.

En-route Sightseeing:

  • Khab Sangam – Scenic confluence point of the Sutlej and Spiti Rivers.
  • Nako Village – Traditional Himalayan village known for its peaceful atmosphere and mud-house architecture.

After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Tabo. Before departing, ensure that any remaining sightseeing in Tabo is completed, as no sights will be revisited.

 

Begin your scenic journey towards Kaza, the administrative headquarters of Spiti Valley.
The distance between Tabo and Kaza via Dhankar & Pin Valley is approximately 85 km, and it would take around 4 to 6 hours to reach, depending on sightseeing stops and road conditions.

 

En-route Sightseeing:

  • Dhankar Monastery – Historic cliff-top monastery offering breathtaking views of the Spiti and Pin River confluence.
  • Dhankar Village – Traditional Himalayan settlement known for dramatic mountain landscapes.
  • Pin Valley – Beautiful cold-desert valley famous for colorful landscapes, traditional villages, and views of the Pin Valley National Park region.
  • Kungri Monastery (Pin Valley) – One of the oldest monasteries in the Pin Valley region associated with the Nyingmapa sect of Tibetan Buddhism.

Local Sightseeing Kaza - Explore Langza, Komic & Key Monastery

Embark on an unforgettable single-day journey exploring the cultural and natural wonders surrounding Kaza. Your adventure begins as you set out from Kaza, ready to delve into the heart of Spiti Valley's spiritual and fossil-rich landscapes.

 

First, head towards the iconic Key Monastery. This drive from Kaza is approximately 12 km and takes around 30-40 minutes, offering breathtaking views of the Spiti River.

 

Highlights of Your Day:

  • Key Monastery (Ki Gompa): Perched majestically atop a hill, this is the largest and most famous monastery in the Spiti Valley. Explore its ancient temples, intricate murals, and collection of rare thangkas, and soak in the serene monastic life.

 

After an enriching visit, continue your drive towards the villages of Langza and Komic. The journey from Key Monastery, often via parts of the Kaza road, to Langza is approximately 25-30 km and can take about 1 to 1.5 hours due to the winding mountain roads.

  • Langza Village: Known as the "Fossil Village" of Spiti, Langza is famous for its ancient marine fossils. Spot the towering Buddha statue overlooking the valley and enjoy panoramic views of the Chau Chau Kang Nilda peak.
  • Komic Village: Perched at an astonishing altitude, Komic is one of the highest motorable villages in the world. Visit the Tangyud Monastery, explore the local culture, and enjoy a warm meal at a local cafe.

 

As the afternoon draws to a close, begin your scenic return journey to Kaza, which is roughly 18-20 km from Komic and takes about 45-60 minutes. Reflect on a day filled with spiritual insights, ancient history, and unparalleled natural beauty in the high Himalayas.

Kaza to Chandratal - Scenic Journey to Chandra Tal with Chicham Bridge Visit

Today after breakfast head towards the famous Chandratal Lake and visit the Chicham Bridge on the way just 5 kms from Kibber. The Chicham Bridge is one of the highest (Altitude) bridges in Asia and is situated 5 kms ahead of Kibber village. Chandra Tal lake is situated at a distance of 85-90 km from Kaza and is said to be the source of the Chandra river. On the way, you’ll cross the famous Kunzum Pass. Spend some time near the Kunzum Mata Temple situated on the top of the pass and head towards Chandratal Lake. Enjoy some quality time near the lake. Camping is not allowed near the lake so the overnight stay would be 2 kms below the lake at our Campsite.

Chandratal to Manali - Scenic Return via Kunzum pass, Atal Tunnel & Solang Valley

Today's adventure takes you from the serene shores of Chandratal Lake to the vibrant town of Manali, traversing breathtaking mountain passes and engineering marvels.

 

Begin your day with an early morning checkout from your accommodation near Chandratal Lake. Ensure all desired sights in the Chandratal vicinity have been explored before commencing your journey.

 

The drive from Chandratal to Manali is approximately 150 km and will take around 6-7 hours, depending on road conditions and stops.

En route, you will pass through:

  • Kunzum Pass: Experience the panoramic views from this high mountain pass, a gateway to the Spiti Valley.
  • Atal Tunnel: Traverse this engineering marvel, significantly reducing travel time and offering a unique underground experience.
  • Solang Valley: Famous for its adventure sports like paragliding and zorbing, offering spectacular mountain scenery.

Upon reaching Manali, check into your hotel. Enjoy your evening in Manali, perhaps exploring the Mall Road for local crafts and cuisine. (Vehicle is not available)

In early morning after the breakfast at the hotel and check out from the hotel and proceed to chandigarh/kalka (it may takes 08 hour) for your onward journey . on the way visit Maa Naina Devi Temple in Bilaspur, later drop at railway station/Airport .
