Arrival at Bagdogara & Transfer to phuentsholing

Upon arrival at Bagdogra Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our local representative who will assist you with your transfer to Phuentsholing. The drive covers approximately 180 km and takes around 5-6 hours, passing through scenic landscapes and foothills of the Eastern Himalayas.

 

After crossing the border, you will arrive in Phuentsholing, a small but lively town situated at an altitude of 298 meters (977 feet). This gateway to Bhutan serves as a cultural and trade link between India and Bhutan.

Local sightseeing in Phuentsholing:

  • Bhutan Gate: The symbolic gateway marking the border between India and Bhutan, adorned with traditional Bhutanese architecture.
  • Phuentsholing Market: A vibrant market where you can explore local handicrafts, textiles, and sample Bhutanese cuisine.
