7 Days 6 Nights West_bengal Tour Itinerary from Bagdogra to Bagdogra Covering Darjeeling, Pelling, Gangtok & Lachung

Your adventure begins with your arrival at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or Siliguri Railway Station. After meeting our representative, we will embark on a picturesque drive to the enchanting hill station of Darjeeling. The distance to Darjeeling is approximately 70 km, and the journey typically takes around 3 hours, depending on traffic conditions.

Upon reaching Darjeeling, you will check into your hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to explore at your leisure. You can choose to relax and acclimatize to the mountain air or take a gentle stroll through the charming streets of Darjeeling, soaking in the vibrant local culture and breathtaking Himalayan vistas.

Today, we embark on a scenic journey from the "Queen of the Hills," Darjeeling, to the serene town of Pelling in Sikkim. This transition promises breathtaking Himalayan vistas and a change of cultural landscape.

Darjeeling to Pelling: A Day of Transitions

Begin your day by checking out from your hotel in Darjeeling. Ensure you have completed any remaining must-see sights in Darjeeling before commencing your journey. The drive to Pelling is approximately 75 km and will take around 3-4 hours, depending on road conditions.

Upon arrival in Pelling, check into your hotel. The rest of your day is dedicated to exploring the wonders of this charming Sikkimese town.

Today, you will depart from Pelling and journey to the vibrant capital of Sikkim, Gangtok. This scenic drive covers approximately 115 km and will take about 5-6 hours, depending on road conditions.

Before departing Pelling, ensure you have completed any remaining sightseeing in the area.

Upon arrival in Gangtok, check into your hotel. The remainder of your day will be dedicated to exploring (By Walk) the captivating attractions of this hill station:

• MG Marg: The heart of Gangtok, a bustling pedestrian-only street lined with shops, restaurants, and cafes, perfect for an evening stroll.

Enjoy your first evening in Gangtok, soaking in the lively atmosphere and the breathtaking mountain vistas.

Embark on a breathtaking single-day excursion from Gangtok to the stunning Tsomgo Lake, Baba Mandir, and the optional Nathula Pass.

Your day begins with an early morning departure from Gangtok. The journey to Tsomgo Lake is approximately 35 km, taking around 1.5 to 2 hours. Upon arrival at Tsomgo Lake, marvel at its pristine beauty, a glacial lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains. You can enjoy a yak ride (optional, on extra cost) or simply soak in the serene atmosphere. Remember to carry warm clothing as the weather can be chilly.

Next, proceed to Baba Mandir, a revered shrine dedicated to the brave soldier Baba Harbhajan Singh. The distance from Tsomgo Lake to Baba Mandir is about 15 km, taking approximately 30 minutes. Visit the temple and learn about the legend of Baba Harbhajan Singh. Experience the spiritual ambiance of this unique location.

For those interested and if permits are available, an optional visit to Nathula Pass can be arranged (on extra cost). Nathula Pass is a significant border crossing between India and China. The drive to Nathula Pass from Baba Mandir is a short 14 km, taking about 30 minutes.

After a day filled with incredible sights and experiences, you will drive back to Gangtok. The return journey to Gangtok from Baba Mandir (or Nathula Pass) will take approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.

Please note: For Nathula Pass Permits valid IDs are Passport, Driver License, and Voter ID Card.

Today, embark on a breathtaking journey from Gangtok to Lachung, a picturesque village nestled in the Himalayas. The drive covers approximately 120 km and will take around 5-6 hours, offering stunning vistas along the way.

After an early breakfast, check out from your hotel in Gangtok. Ensure you have completed any remaining desired sightseeing in Gangtok before commencing your journey.

En Route Sightseeing

• Seven Sisters Waterfall: Seven cascading streams forming a beautiful waterfall along the North Sikkim highway.
• Naga Waterfall: Tall roadside waterfall plunging dramatically amid rocky cliffs and forest.
• Phodong Monastery: Historic Buddhist monastery known for murals, peaceful ambiance, traditional architecture.

Upon arrival in Lachung, check into your hotel. Take some time to relax and acclimatize to the mountain air.

Spend the evening at your leisure. You can take a gentle stroll through the charming village, interact with the locals, and admire the stunning natural beauty that surrounds Lachung. The crisp mountain air and the tranquil atmosphere promise a memorable experience.

Zero Point Excursion would additional, and approximate cost is INR 4,000/- as of Aug 2023. It may be revised in future. SUV Vehicle (Bolero/ Sumo or Similar) shall be provided for the trip.

Proceed for an excursion to Yumthang Valley, also known as the Valley of Flowers.

The distance between Lachung and Yumthang Valley is approximately 25 km, and it would take around 1 hour to reach.

Local sightseeing includes:

• Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary – Protected forest famous for colourful rhododendron blooms.
• Yumthang Hot Spring – Natural hot spring believed to have medicinal properties.
• Lachung Chu – Scenic river flowing through the valley.

After sightseeing, return to Lachung for the overnight stay.

Begin your day in Lachung with an early breakfast. Today's journey takes you from Lachung to Bagdogra (or New Jalpaiguri), a significant distance of approximately 200 km, which will take around 7-8 hours of travel time.

As you are travelling from Lachung, ensure you have completed any desired activities or sightseeing in Lachung before commencing your journey to Bagdogra. The drive will be scenic, passing through diverse landscapes as you descend from the mountains.

Upon arrival in Bagdogra or New Jalpaiguri, you will be transferred to your onward destination or the airport/railway station for your departure.
