Day 1

Pick up from Bagdogara Airport/Siliguri Railway Station and Head to Gangtok

Welcome to Bagdogra! Upon arrival, you will be greeted and embark on a scenic journey to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. The drive covers approximately 125 km and takes about 5-6 hours, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayas and lush valleys.

 

En route, enjoy the following sights:

  • Coronation Bridge: Witness the historic bridge spanning the Teesta River, a significant landmark connecting North Bengal and Sikkim.

 

Upon reaching Gangtok, check into your hotel. The remainder of the day is dedicated to exploring the vibrant capital.

After settling in, you can begin your exploration with these attractions:

  • MG Marg: Stroll along Gangtok's pedestrian-only promenade, a lively hub with shops, restaurants, and cafes.

Day 2

Excursion to Tsomgo Lake, Baba Mandir & Nathula Pass (On Extra Cost)

Embark on a breathtaking single-day excursion from Gangtok to the stunning Tsomgo Lake, Baba Mandir, and the optional Nathula Pass.

 

Your day begins with an early morning departure from Gangtok. The journey to Tsomgo Lake is approximately 35 km, taking around 1.5 to 2 hours. Upon arrival at Tsomgo Lake, marvel at its pristine beauty, a glacial lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains. You can enjoy a yak ride (optional, on extra cost) or simply soak in the serene atmosphere. Remember to carry warm clothing as the weather can be chilly.

 

Next, proceed to Baba Mandir, a revered shrine dedicated to the brave soldier Baba Harbhajan Singh. The distance from Tsomgo Lake to Baba Mandir is about 15 km, taking approximately 30 minutes. For those interested and if permits are available, an optional visit to Nathula Pass can be arranged (on extra cost). Nathula Pass is a significant border crossing between India and China. The drive to Nathula Pass from Baba Mandir is a short 14 km, taking about 30 minutes.

 

After a day filled with incredible sights and experiences, you will drive back to Gangtok. The return journey to Gangtok from Baba Mandir (or Nathula Pass) will take approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.
