Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Amritsar pickup - Wagah Border and Local sightseeing

Arrive Amritsar, transfer to hotel and check in. Visit the Golden Temple and later visit the massacre of Jalian Wallan Bagh. Afternoon little free time to rest and evening around 3 PM drive to Wagah Border to see the Closing Ceremony, event starts exactly by 5.30 PM everyday. Border closing 'lowering of the flags' ceremony is a daily military practice that the security forces of India and Pakistan.This ceremony takes place every evening before sunset at the Wagah border, which as part of the Grand Trunk Road was the only road link between these two countries before the opening of the Aman Setu in Kashmir in 1999. The ceremony starts with a blustering parade by the soldiers from both the sides and ends up in the perfectly coordinated lowering of the two nations flags, it is called the beating retreat border ceremony on the international level. One infantryman (Jawan) stands at attention on each side of the gate. As the sun sets, the iron gate at the border is opened and the flags are lowered. The flags are folded and the ceremony ends with a retreat that involves a brusque handshake between soldiers from either side. Return back to Hotel and Overnight

Dalhousie Sightseeing Including Khajjiar

Begin your day in the picturesque hill station of Dalhousie. After a leisurely breakfast, embark on a captivating journey to Khajjiar, often referred to as the "Mini Switzerland of India." The drive from Dalhousie to Khajjiar is approximately 24 km and takes about 1 hour.

 

  • Khajjiar Lake: A stunning, saucer-shaped lake surrounded by lush meadows and dense deodar forests.
  • Mini Switzerland: Enjoy the panoramic views and the serene atmosphere of this beautiful valley.
  • Horse Riding/Paragliding: Optional activities available for adventure enthusiasts to experience the landscape from a different perspective.

 

After soaking in the natural beauty of Khajjiar, you will drive back to Dalhousie in the late afternoon. Upon returning to Dalhousie, explore some of its local attractions.

  • St. Francis Church: One of the oldest churches in the region, known for its colonial architecture.

Conclude your day with dinner at a local restaurant in Dalhousie, reflecting on the scenic beauty and memorable experiences.

Head to Mcleodganj from Dalhousie

Next Morning After having breakfast at the hotel, Depart from Dalhousie to Dharamsala, Dharamshala is a beautiful and peaceful town spread at different levels and surrounded by a forest of pine. also cover Cricket stadium dharashala in lapse of Dhauladhar peak , visit war memorial near dharamshala .Bhagsunath and Dal Lake. Dharamsala. Go for Mcleodganj local sightseeing, Mcleodganj is a small bazaar filled with a variety of Tibetan handicrafts and artifacts. check in the hotel .Dinner & Stay overnight at Hotel in Dharamshala

Today we will be covering Manali snow point which is called snow valley major attraction of day to enjoy snow activities and have a vast view of snowy clapped ountains , you can do adventuure activities at solang valley at your own expenses like paragliding , snow ride, zipline and much more , later drive to atal tunnel to visit Indian Great construction in Himalayas, in eve return to hotel for overnight stay .

Day 7

Travel to Shimla from Manali via Kullu

Begin your day in Manali. After enjoying a final breakfast in Manali, check out from your hotel. Ensure any remaining Manali sights you wish to see are completed before departing.

 

The drive from Manali to Kullu is approximately 40 km and takes about 1 hour. Kullu is renowned for its stunning valley and the Beas River.

En route, consider these sights (If not done earlier):

  • Kullu Valley: Admire the breathtaking panoramic views of the valley, dotted with apple orchards and pine forests.
  • Bijli Mahadev Temple: (Optional detour) A short hike leads to this ancient temple offering spectacular views.

 

Upon reaching Kullu, take a brief pause to soak in the atmosphere of this beautiful valley. You might enjoy a short walk by the Beas River. Continue your journey from Kullu to Shimla. This stretch covers approximately 170 km and will take around 5-6 hours of travel time.

 

Upon arrival in Shimla, check into your hotel. The rest of your day is dedicated to exploring the charm of Shimla:

  • The Ridge: A vibrant heart of Shimla, perfect for a leisurely stroll and enjoying panoramic views.
  • Mall Road: Shimla's famous pedestrian street, ideal for shopping and relishing local delicacies.
  • Christ Church: An iconic landmark with stunning Neo-Gothic architecture.

 

Enjoy your evening in the Queen of Hills.

 

Due to municipal corporation's mandate, tourist vehicles/outside vehicles are not allowed in certain areas. Vehicle will be parked to certain parking spot, and such areas must be covered on foot.

Day 8

Return to Chandigarh Post Breakfast and Fly Back

After a leisurely breakfast at your hotel, complete any remaining sightseeing in Shimla. Ensure you have checked out of your hotel before departing.

 

Depart from Shimla for Chandigarh. The distance is approximately 110 km, and the drive will take around 3.5 to 4 hours.

 

En route, consider a brief stop at:

  • Kasauli – A quaint cantonment town offering panoramic views and colonial charm (optional, depending on time).

 

Upon arrival in Chandigarh, proceed directly to the Chandigarh International Airport (IXC)/Railway Staion for your onward flight. Please allow sufficient time for check-in and security procedures.
