Amritsar to Local sight and Wagah Border

On Arrival at Amritsar visit the Golden Temple and later visit the massacre of Jalian Wallan Bagh, Lawrence street , Amritsar Market . Afternoon little free time to rest and evening around 3 PM drive to Wagah Border to see the Closing Ceremony, event starts exactly by 5.30 PM everyday. Border closing 'lowering of the flags' ceremony is a daily military practice that the security forces of India and Pakistan.This ceremony takes place every evening before sunset at the Wagah border, which as part of the Grand Trunk Road was the only road link between these two countries before the opening of the Aman Setu in Kashmir in 1999. The ceremony starts with a blustering parade by the soldiers from both the sides and ends up in the perfectly coordinated lowering of the two nations flags, it is called the beating retreat border ceremony on the international level. One infantryman (Jawan) stands at attention on each side of the gate. As the sun sets, the iron gate at the border is opened and the flags are lowered. The flags are folded and the ceremony ends with a retreat that involves a brusque handshake between soldiers from either side. Return back to Hotel .dinner & overnight stay .

Amritsar to Katra 8 hrs

In morning check out from the hotel & drive to Katra(7-8 hrs.). Katra via pathankot and Jammu visit katra in the evening, check in the hotel, overnight at Katra Hotel.

Pick up Katra Vaishno Devi Darshan (E) - Journey to the Sacred Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine

Your day begins early in Katra, the base camp for this spiritual trek. After a quick breakfast, prepare for the ascent to the holy cave.

The trek to the shrine is approximately 13 kilometers and is a significant part of the pilgrimage experience. You can choose to walk, hire a pony, or use the helicopter service (if pre-booked and available) for parts of the journey.

 

En route to the Shrine:

  • Banganga: A holy stream where pilgrims take a purifying dip before proceeding.
  • Adkuwari: A cave believed to be the meditation spot of Mata Vaishno Devi.
  • Himkoti: Offers scenic views and resting points.

Upon reaching the shrine, immerse yourself in the divine atmosphere. Spend time offering prayers and seeking blessings from Mata Vaishno Devi. The darshan itself is a profound spiritual moment.

After your darshan, begin your descent back to Katra. The journey down offers a different perspective of the Trikuta Mountains. Take your time, reflecting on the spiritual experience.

 

Arrive back in Katra in the evening, concluding your spiritually enriching pilgrimage to the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine. This day is dedicated to devotion and the sacred journey.

Katra to Jammu - Scenic Transfer with Optional Vaishno Devi Temple Visit

Begin your day in Katra with a hearty breakfast. Today's journey takes you from Katra to Jammu, a drive of approximately 50 km, which should take around 1.5 hours.
