7 Days 6 Nights Kerala Tour Itinerary from Kochi to Kochi Covering Munnar, Thekkady, Varkala, Kovalam & Trivendrum

After landing in Kochi, meet our representative at the airport or railway station. Start your drive to Athirapally Waterfalls, which is approximately 70 km from Kochi and takes around 1.5–2 hours by road.

Athirapally sightseeing:

• Athirapally Waterfalls – Known as the “Niagara of Kerala,” spend about 1–1.5 hours enjoying the top and bottom viewpoints. Entry fee: INR 40/adult, INR 10/child, INR 150/foreigner.
• Thumboormuzhi Hanging Bridge – Pedestrian bridge over the Chalakudy River. Entry fee: INR 40/adult, INR 10/child.
• Charpa Waterfalls – Small cascading falls ideal for photography.
• Vazhachal Falls – Scenic waterfall surrounded by lush greenery.

After sightseeing, continue your journey to Munnar, which is approximately 130 km from Athirapally and takes around 4 hours by road.

Munnar sightseeing (on arrival or en route):

• Valara Waterfalls – Cascading falls surrounded by dense forests.
• Cheyyappara Waterfalls – Seven-step waterfall offering great photo opportunities.

Check in at your hotel in Munnar. The rest of the day is free for leisure – stroll through local markets or relax and enjoy the beauty of the hill station.

After breakfast at Munnar hotel, we would start the sights of Munnar.

• Tea Plantations – Explore the sprawling tea estates and learn about tea processing.
• Mattupetty Dam – Popular for boating and panoramic views of the hills.
• Echo Point – Famous for natural echo phenomenon and picturesque surroundings.
• Attukal Waterfalls – Serene waterfall surrounded by lush greenery.
• Kundala Lake & Dam – Pedal boating and tranquil scenery.
• Pothamedu Viewpoint – Scenic viewpoints ideal for photography and short walks.
• Tea Museum – Learn about tea processing (optional).
• Kathakali / Punarjani Traditional Village – Cultural performance showcasing Kerala traditions (optional).
• Rose Garden – Stroll among vibrant flowers and take photos.
• Spice Garden – Explore Kerala’s aromatic spices and plantations.

Optional: Local markets in Munnar town for spices, tea, and handicrafts.

After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Munnar. Complete any remaining sightseeing if not already done. Depart for Thekkady. Munnar is approximately 90 km away from Thekkady, and it would take around 3–4 hours by road.

Upon arrival in Thekkady, check in to your hotel and rest briefly. Later, enjoy the following sightseeing and activities in Thekkady:

• Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary / Periyar National Park – Jungle safari or boat cruise on Periyar Lake to spot elephants, bison, and other wildlife.

• Spice Garden Tour – Explore local spice gardens to see cultivation and processing.

Begin your day in Thekkady by checking out of your hotel early. 

The journey from Thekkady to Varkala covers approximately 190 km and takes around 5 hours by road. The route offers scenic views of Kerala’s lush landscapes and backwaters.

Continue your journey after these stops and reach Varkala by the afternoon.

Upon arrival in Varkala, explore its charming attractions:

• Varkala Beach – A stunning cliff-side beach known for its golden sand, natural springs, and vibrant atmosphere.
• Janardana Swami Temple – An ancient and revered Hindu temple dating back over 2,000 years.
• Varkala Cliff – Lined with cafes, shops, and viewpoints overlooking the Arabian Sea, perfect for a leisurely stroll.
• Ayurvedic Centers – Consider an afternoon Ayurvedic massage or treatment to unwind.

Spend your evening enjoying the sunset over the Arabian Sea from the cliffs, relishing local seafood at the beachside cafes, and soaking in the relaxed vibe of Varkala before retiring for the night.

Start your Varkala sightseeing with an early walk along Varkala Cliff and breakfast by the sea. Visit Papanasam Beach for a holy dip, then relax at Varkala Beach and quieter Odayam Beach. Continue to Azhimala Shiva Temple, admiring the grand Gangadhara statue facing the ocean. After lunch, explore Edava Beach and Kappil Beach, where backwaters meet the sea. Return to the cliff for shopping and cafés, and end the day watching a beautiful sunset over the Arabian Sea, followed by dinner and an overnight stay in Varkala.

After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Varkala. Complete any remaining sightseeing in Varkala before departure. The distance between Varkala and Kovalam is approximately 55 km, taking around 1.5–2 hours by road.

Enjoy a scenic drive through coastal Kerala, passing beautiful beaches, coconut groves, and serene backwaters as you head towards Kovalam, one of India’s most famous beach destinations.

Arrive in Kovalam, known for its crescent-shaped beaches, lighthouse views, and relaxed seaside atmosphere. Check in to your hotel and proceed for sightseeing based on available time.

• Lighthouse Beach: Famous beach with a towering lighthouse offering panoramic views (access by steps).
• Hawa Beach (Eve’s Beach): Calm beach ideal for sunbathing and leisurely walks.
