Pick up from Guwahati Airport, Head to Shillong

After arriving at Guwahati (GAU) Airport / GHY Railway Station move towards Shillong (49000 ft). Experience the majestic beauty of Umium Lake surrounded by Sylvan Hills. On arrival, check-in to the hotel.

Excursion to Dawki & Mawlynnong

After early morning breakfast excursion to Dawki (Bangladesh border) and then to Mawlynnong the cleanest village in Asia. Dawki river is approximately 85 Kilometers & is nearly 02 ½ hours one way journey. Mawlynnong is a village in the East Khasi Hills district of the Meghalaya state, India - It is famous for its cleanliness and natural attraction. Later return to Shillong. Evening if time permits visit local market (Police Bazar).

Cherrapunji Excursions

Post-breakfast trip to Cherrapunjee (4400 ft) famous as the wettest place in the world. Enjoy the heavenly beauty of Nohkalikai waterfall, Krem Mawmluh Cave, Mawsmai Falls, Eco park, Mawkdok Dympep Valley View, Thangkharang Park, and Khasi monoliths. On the way back to Shillong, visit the Elephant falls and beautiful Shillong Peaks.

Shillong Local Sightseeing, Later Head to Guwahati

After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Shillong. Before departing, ensure that any remaining sightseeing in Shillong is completed.

  • Don Bosco Museum – Displays North-East India’s tribal culture and heritage.
  • Shillong Skywalk (New Shillong Viewpoint) – Glass skywalk offering panoramic views of Shillong.
  • Ever Living Museum – Privately curated museum with tribal artifacts and fossils.
  • Elephant Falls – A well-known multi-tiered waterfall.
  • Air Force Museum – Showcases aircraft models and IAF memorabilia.
  • Shillong Peak Viewpoint – Highest point in Shillong with sweeping city views.

 

After completing the local sights, begin your journey towards Guwahati. The distance between Shillong and Guwahati is approximately 100 km, and the travel time is around 3 to 3.5 hours by road.

 

En Route, visit (If not done already):

  • Umiam Lake (Badapani) – A serene and vast man-made lake ideal for photography, boating, and enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding hills.

Continue your drive to Guwahati and check in to your hotel for an overnight stay.
