Gau Local - Pobitora - Kaziranga - Shillong - Jowai(E) - Mawsynram(E) - Cherra (Dwaki)-Local-Ret

After arriving at Guwahati (GAU) Airport / GHY Railway Station move towards Shillong (49000 ft). Check in the hotel and freshen up at the hotel. We would visit Maa Kamakshya Temple. It is the most popular temple of Assam so the wait time is quite high. It may take around 3 Hrs on a normal day and it could even take longer hours in a little special day. Later Visit Tirupati Balaji Temple, Nabagraha Temple, Assam State Museum, State Zoo cum Botanical Garden, Sukreswar Temple (The 6th Jyotirlinga of Shiva). Evening you may take a River Cruise (Direct Payment if not included) on the mighty River Brahmaputra. Overnight stay in Guwahati. (Note: We can visit the sights listed in the morning, as per the time availability.)

Early morning visit Kamakhya Temple (If not visited yesterday). Return to the hotel for breakfast. Checkout and Proceed to Pobitora Wild Life Sanctuary. Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra in Morigaon district in Asaam. Pobitora is mainly famous for its great Indian One-horned rhinoceros. Besides rhinoceros, the other animals are leopard, wild boar, Barking deer, wild buffalo etc. Assam's Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is also home to more than 2000 migratory birds and various reptiles. It is also an Important Bird Area. Later return to Guwahati.

Early morning explore Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary on back of elephant safari (Direct Payment Basis if not included in the inclusion section). You can even enjoy Jeep Safari (Direct Payment Basis if not included). We will return to the resort for breakfast then Check out. Proceed to Kaziranga National Park, the home of the One Horn Indian Rhinoceros. Check in at your hotel/Lodge/resort. Evening you may visit Orchid Park and the nearby Tea Plantations. Overnight stay at Kaziranga National Park.

After breakfast proceed for Shillong (4,900 ft.), called 'Scotland of the East". Enroute visit Umium Lake, a majestic placid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills. On arrival at Shillong, check in at your hotel. In the evening, if time and energy allow, we can visit the local market at Shillong.

After an early breakfast you will be taken for a full day excursion to Jowai, a pleatue sorrounded on 3 sides by majestic Myntdu River. Here you will visit one of most magical waterfall – Krang Suri, Tryshi Waterfalls, Nartiang Monoliths, a cluster of monoliths which stand as a testimony of Jaintia rulers’ strength. Also visit the Nartiang Durga Temple, a 500-year-old Mandir. In the evening you will be driven back to Shillong. Overnight stay at the hotel in Shillong

After breakfast visit Mawsynram. Enroute visit Elephanta Falls (Sunday Closed) and Shillong Peak (Wednesday Closed) for some breathtaking views. Mawsynram, which as per the new geological reports receives the highest rainfall in the world. The area is known for its many caves. Later visit Mawphlang Sacred Grove. It is one of the biggest Sacred Groves in Meghalaya. It is a well preserved forest by local community. Nothing can be taken out from the forest as this is being protected by the local deities. Visit Khasi model village. Evening return back to Shillong. Overnight stay in Shillong

It would be little hectic day as you would be covering a trek, a river and a beautiful village. Start the day by heading to the Asia’s cleanest village Mawlynnong and river Dawki “Umgnot river”. After your arrival to Mawlynnong we will visit the cleanest village Mawlynnong. Witness the astonishing Living Root Bridge at Riwai Village which is made of roots from trees. Making way through this fresh environment now you will be heading towards DAWKI “Umgnot River”. Be amazed after your first glance at the scene of the beautiful crystal in color of this river. Have a thrilling experience of riding the wooden lean boat of Dawki. Enjoy some quality time at Indo-Bangladesh border with your loved ones.

After breakfast, we would start the local sight visits of Cherrapunji also known as Sohra. Elephanta Falls and Shillong peak with some beautiful road beauty viewpoints. Seven Sister Falls, After reaching the location you will visit Mawsmai Cave, Arwah caves, Garden of caves, Mawkdok view point, centuries old limestone cave and the Seven Sisters Falls which symbolizes the seven states of North East, Nawkhalika Falls, kynrem falls, lyngksiar falls. Night stay at Sohra/Cherrapunji.

After breakfast, we would visit the sights that are yet pending. Based on the your flight time, you must choose the return time from Cherrapunji. It would take minimum 4 hours to reach Guwahati. So chose the right time, and head back to Guwahati to catch the flight or train.
