Pick up from Srinagar Airport - Srinagar Local Sightseeings

After arrival in Srinagar, meet and greet our representative at the airport. Proceed for a comfortable transfer to your hotel or houseboat for check-in and refreshment. Srinagar is approximately 12 km from the airport to the city center, and it takes around 30 minutes to reach by road.

 

Sightseeing in Srinagar:

  • Dal Lake – Enjoy a scenic Shikara ride (approx. 1 hour) gliding through floating gardens, vibrant markets, and the serene backdrop of the Zabarwan Mountains.
  • Mughal Gardens – Visit Nishat Bagh (“Garden of Bliss”) and Shalimar Bagh (“Abode of Love”), known for their Mughal architecture, terraced lawns, and fountains.
  • Chashme Shahi – A beautiful garden built around a natural spring believed to have medicinal properties.
  • Shankaracharya Temple – Located atop a hill, offering panoramic views of Dal Lake and the entire Srinagar valley.
  • Pari Mahal – Also called the Palace of Fairies, ideal for photography and sunset views.

Day Trip to Pahalgram

After breakfast, we drive to Pahalgam via Pampore, Avantipura and the village of Bijbehara which remains famous as the bread basket of Kashmir. We switch from the national highway 1A at Khanabal and drive through the second largest city of Anantnag. From here the road turns scenic as we drive parallel on the Lidder river flowing from the opposite direction. In Pahalgam, visit Betaab Valley, Aru Valley and Chandanwari Valley (At your own cost). After sightseeing around the mountain valley for most of the day, Over Night stay in Srinagar.

After early breakfast proceed to Gulmarg for your trip. The drive to Gulmarg is through yet another remarkable facet of country side in Kashmir. Explore Gulmarg on your own by doing sightseeing the attractive locales like the Golf Course. Also take the exhilarating Gondola cable car ride (At your own cost) to Khilanmarg Snow Point view. The first leg of your journey is from Srinagar to Drass, covering approximately 145 km and taking around 4-5 hours, depending on road conditions and stops. This segment involves ascending the formidable Zoji La Pass, a high mountain pass that connects the Kashmir Valley to the Ladakh region.

 

En route from Srinagar to Drass, you will encounter:

  • Sonamarg: While not a direct stop for an extended visit on this transit day, you'll pass by the stunning meadows of Sonamarg (Meadow of Gold), offering glimpses of glaciers and pristine valleys. It's a perfect spot for a quick photo stop to admire the majestic scenery.
  • Zoji La Pass: Conquer the challenging Zoji La Pass (approximately 11,575 ft or 3,528 m), an experience in itself with its winding roads and panoramic views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks.
  • Drass War Memorial (Kargil War Memorial): Pay homage to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives during the Kargil War. Return from Pangong to Leh - Scenic Drive via Changla Pass with Monument Visits

After enjoying a beautiful sunrise and breakfast by Pangong Lake, complete any final moments at the lake before commencing your scenic return journey to Leh. Your drive begins from Pangong Tso, heading towards the majestic Changla Pass.

 

The journey from Pangong Lake to Changla Pass is approximately 90-100 km and will take around 3-4 hours, traversing through winding mountain roads and quaint Ladakhi villages.

 

Upon reaching Changla Pass, one of the highest motorable passes in the world at an elevation of 17,586 ft (5,360 m), take a short break. Here, you can enjoy a cup of tea at the army cafeteria and soak in the panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan ranges.

 

From Changla Pass, the descent to Leh is approximately 55-65 km, taking around 2-2.5 hours. This segment of the drive is particularly rich in cultural and historical sites.

En route from Changla Pass to Leh, explore these iconic monasteries and palaces:

  • Chemrey Monastery: A 17th-century monastery belonging to the Drukpa order, known for its high statue of Padmasambhava and rare ancient scriptures.

After a leisurely breakfast, you might opt for a final exploration of Leh's iconic landmarks (At an additional cost if vehicle required.) if time permits.

 

Depending on your flight schedule, you will then be transferred to Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport (IXL) for your onward journey, carrying with you cherished memories of Ladakh's pristine beauty and unique culture.

  • In the peak time, pickup/drops can be provided different vehicles (Including Ecco Vans) than mentioned in the package.
