Chandigarh To Narkanda

Today our vehicle will pick you early in the morning and take you towards Narkanda. On the way enjoy the views while you travel through Kufri, Fagu and Theog. Overnight stay at Camps/Hotel.

Narkanda → Kalpa

Narkanda to Kalpa - Epic Himalayan Road Trip through Kinnaur

On the second day of this Spiti Valley tour, we start our epic Himalayan road trip today and start driving to Sangla. We will drive along the Sutlej river, cross the town of Rampur Bushahr, and enter Kinnaur through the popular ‘Gate of Kinnaur’. We later arrive in Kalpa. We can head to the famous Suicide Point on the way to Roghi and later explore the Kalpa monastery and town. We watch the sunset with a hot cup of tea from our hotel. The sunset from Kalpa against the Kinner Kailash mountains is a sight not to be missed. Kalpa is located in the cradle of the Kinner Kailash range, and on a clear day, one can spot the Kinner Kailash shivling from Kalpa as well. Overnight at a hotel in Kalpa.

Kalpa → Tabo

Kalpa to Tabo - Scenic Journey through Nako and Desert-Mountains

Today we drive towards Tabo. The landscape changes from green-mountains to desert-mountains. We continue our journey through Kinnaur and enter the Hindustan-Tibet Highway - often called the world’s most adventurous road. We drive via Puh, which is the last fuel station on this road before Kaza. After a fuel refill, we drive towards Nako, a village situated at 3600 m, passing by the Khab Sangam (confluence of Spiti and Sutlej rivers), and visit the Nako lake. We can have lunch at Nako and later visit the Gue village and see the 500 year old Mummy at the Monastery there. Finally we head to Tabo for the night.

Tabo → Kaza

Explore Tabo to Kaza - Visit Tabo Monastery, Dhankar Village & Scenic Pin Valley

We start the day with a visit to the Tabo monastery - the oldest continuously functioning monastery in India. If time permits, we can climb up the stairs in the mountain behind the monastery to see the famous meditation caves of Tabo. We then head to Dhankar. Perched high above the confluence of the Spiti and Pin rivers, in a hidden bowl, is the tiny hamlet of Dhankar. We will visit the old monastery here (if open). The view of the valley from the village is not to be missed. We then head to Pin Valley National Park. Imagine a national park with an abundance of animals and birds, with some rare plant varieties, a river that gushes when it isn’t frozen and trekking opportunities for the adventure-seekers. The Pin Valley promises all this and more. We make our way to Kaza by late afternoon and check-in to our hotel. Overnight at a hotel in Kaza.

Kaza → Kaza

Local Sightseeing Kaza - Discover Langza, Hikkim & Komik

Wake up in the magnificent Pin valley and after breakfast head towards Kaza and then further to explore the nearby villages of Langza (The fossil village), Komic, Hikkim & Key monastery. Each of these villages are famous for special reasons. Hikkim claim to have the worlds highest post office. Komic is the worlds highest village to be connected with a motorable road. While Langza is known as the Fossil village of India due to the abundance of marine fossils found here. After sightseeing, head towards Kaza, will cover key monastery and chicham bridge. for the evening stay.

Kaza → Tabo

Kaza to Tabo - Visit the Historic Dhankar Monastery

Our first destination on day will be the Dhankar (sometimes spelled as Dankhar or Dhangkar) monastery. It is a 900-year-old monastery built on a valley spur. The word literally translates to Fort (Kar) built on a mountain (Dhang). A 23km long drive on NH505 will take us to a point from where we take a right turn and continue the drive on a serpentine road connecting road (Sichling-Dhankhar Gompa). The Dhankar monastery offers vantage views of the valley and the confluence of the Pin and Spiti Rivers. After spending some time at the monastery, we descend down to reach NH505, take a left turn, and continue driving on the highway. At Attargo, we drive over the Attargo bridge and start our road journey into the Pin valley. Nako → Sarahan

Nako to Sarahan - Scenic Drive via Kalpa with Wildlife Sanctuary Visit

pOst breakfast check out from Nako lake and start drive bac to sarahan via kalpa which will take approx 5-7 hrsto reach , on arrival Visit wildlifesancturay at Sarahn and Maa BHeemakali Ancient tempple , Dinner & overnight stay near sarahan .

Sarahan to Chandigarh - Scenic Departure from Spiti Valley

Begin your day with an early breakfast at your hotel in Sarahan. If you haven't yet, take a final moment to visit the revered Bhimakali Temple before checking out and commencing your journey. This iconic temple is a masterpiece of Himalayan architecture and a spiritual highlight of the region.

 

Set out for Chandigarh, approximately 270-300 km away, with an estimated travel time of around 8-9 hours, depending on road conditions and stops. This scenic route will take you through changing landscapes, from the serene mountains of Kinnaur to the bustling foothills of Himachal Pradesh.

 

Upon arrival in Chandigarh, the planned "fly back" suggests a direct transfer to Chandigarh International Airport for your onward journey. If time allows before your flight, you might consider a brief glimpse of Chandigarh's renowned architecture and urban planning.

 

Concluding your memorable journey from the tranquil Spiti Valley, you'll be transferred to Chandigarh International Airport for your departure, carrying with you memories of Himachal's diverse beauty.
