Embark on an extraordinary single-day journey from Hanle, traversing some of the world's most remote and highest motorable roads, en route to Leh.

Begin your day with an early departure from Hanle. Ensure your vehicle is fully prepared and that you possess all necessary permits for this unique and isolated route. The initial segment of your adventure leads you from Hanle to the awe-inspiring Umling La Pass. This leg covers approximately 105 km (Both Ways) and is expected to take around 3.5 to 4.5 hours, given the extremely rugged terrain and high altitude. Expect numerous stops for photographs and to marvel at the pristine, untouched landscapes.

Upon reaching Umling La Pass (19,300 feet / 5,882 meters), take a brief moment to appreciate standing at the world's highest motorable pass. Due to the extreme altitude, it's advised to limit your time here to prevent altitude sickness.

After this momentous stop, continue your extensive drive towards Leh. This segment from Umling La Pass to Leh is a significant journey of approximately 275-295 km and could take an estimated 8 to 10 hours. The route winds through incredibly remote areas via Chisumle, the Demchok Road area, Loma, Chumathang, and Upshi, gradually joining the Indus River valley.

This entire day is a testament to endurance, and you will likely arrive in Leh late in the evening or night. Upon arrival, check into your pre-booked accommodation in Leh for a well-deserved rest after conquering one of the world's most challenging high-altitude routes.
