Arrival at Jaisalmer Airport and Jaislamer Sightseeing

After arrival at Jaisalmer Airport, meet and greet our representative who will assist you with your transfer to the hotel. The distance between Jaisalmer Airport and the main city center is approximately 15 km, and it takes around 30 minutes by road to reach.

 

After check-in and a short refreshment break, proceed to explore the Golden City of Jaisalmer, renowned for its yellow sandstone architecture and desert charm.

Sightseeing in Jaisalmer:

  • Jaisalmer Fort (Sonar Quila) – A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world’s largest living forts, offering panoramic views of the city.
  • Patwon Ki Haveli – The most elaborate haveli in Jaisalmer, famous for its intricate carvings and architecture.
  • Salim Singh Ki Haveli – Known for its unique peacock-shaped roof and artistic design.
  • Nathmal Ki Haveli – A beautifully crafted mansion combining Rajput and Islamic architectural styles.
  • Gadisar Lake – A scenic man-made lake surrounded by temples and ghats, perfect for boating and photography.
  • Vyas Chhatri – A sandstone cenotaph offering stunning sunset views over the desert landscape.

Jaisalmer Extended sightseeing Jain

Begin your day immersed in the rich history and spiritual tranquility of Jaisalmer, often called the "Golden City." Today focuses on exploring its magnificent Jain heritage.

  • Chandraprabhu Temple: Dedicated to the 8th Tirthankara, known for its beautiful torana (archway) and intricate sculptures.
  • Rishabdev Temple: The oldest and most significant temple in the complex, featuring elaborate carvings of celestial dancers and deities.
  • Parasvanath Temple: Celebrated for its stunning archways and a cupola crowned with an amalak and a kalash.

Evening: Sunset at Gadisar Lake & Leisure

Conclude your day with a relaxing visit to Gadisar Lake, a man-made water reservoir surrounded by temples and ghats. Enjoy a boat ride or simply soak in the serene atmosphere as the sun sets, casting a golden glow over the city. The evening is then free for you to explore the local markets for souvenirs or relax.

Head to Camp via Tanot Mata Temple and Longewala Border

After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Jaisalmer. Before departing, ensure that any remaining sightseeing in Jaisalmer is completed, as no sights will be revisited. Begin your journey towards your Desert Camp.


The distance between Jaisalmer and Tanot Mata Temple is approximately 120 km, taking around 2 to 2.5 hours, and From Tanot to Longewala, the distance is roughly 35 km, taking 45 minutes to 1 hour. Finally, the distance between Longewala and the Jaisalmer Desert Camp region is approximately 45–55 km, taking 1 to 1.5 hours depending on the camp location.

 

Enroute Sightseeing:

  • Tanot Mata Temple – Sacred temple associated with the Indo-Pak War of 1965 and miraculous unexploded bombs.
  • Longewala War Memorial & Border Post – Famous battleground of the 1971 Indo-Pak War, featuring museums, bunkers, and documentary showcases.
  • Kuldhara – The Abandoned Village

 

Afternoon: Check in to the Desert Camp at Sam Sand Dunes.
