On day of this Spiti Valley tour, we start our epic Himalayan road trip today and start driving to Sangla. With the Baspa river magically weaving itself through the forested slopes, this exquisite 95-kilometer stretch of the Sangla Valley is a sight to behold. Known predominantly for its agriculture, almost every house in Sangla will have cultivations of apples, pears, walnuts, apricots or potatoes.Dinner & overnight stay at Kalpa.

Sangla to Kalpa - Explore Kamru Fort, Rakcham & Chitkul

After breakfast first visit kamru fort ,batseri village , baspa river further we shall drive to the beautiful town of Kalpa via Rekong Peo, (approx. 51 kms/ 3 hours’ drive) the district headquarters. One can enjoy spectacular views of the sacred Kinner Kailash Peak, one of the most beautiful peaks in the Himalayas on the way. Kalpa to Kaza - Scenic Journey through Nako, Gue, and Tabo Monasteries

Wake up to the morning view in the town of Kalpa. Today we will head towards Tabo via Nako village. We will stop at Nako village where you can see the famous Nako lake. After a short halt in Nako village head towards Tabo via Gue Village. The Gue village is famous for the Gue mummy which is a naturally mummified body of a Budhist Monk in a meditating position. Explore the monastery and after Gue head towards Tabo. The Tabo Monastery is one of the famous monasteries in Spiti Valley. Tabo village is also famous for its caves (Tabo caves) which can be seen from the village. These caves are used by the monks for meditation and other purposes. Drive further to Kaza , check in the stay , dinner & overnight at Kaza.

En route to Langza: Drive approximately 15 km to Langza, a journey taking about 30 minutes.
Langza Village: Explore the picturesque village, famous for its ancient monastery and the chance to find fossils.
En route to Hikkim: Continue your journey to Hikkim, a short drive of about 10 km, taking roughly 20 minutes.
Hikkim Village: Visit the world's highest post office and send a postcard to a loved one.
En route to Komik: Proceed to Komik, another 10 km drive, approximately 20 minutes.
Komik Village: Discover Komik, one of the highest motorable villages in the world, and visit the vibrant Komik Monastery.
Return to Kaza: Begin your scenic drive back to Kaza, a journey of about 25 km, taking around 40 minutes.

Begin your day in Kaza. After a hearty breakfast. The drive from Kaza to Tabo is approximately 35 km, taking around 1.5 hours. This scenic route offers breathtaking views of the Spiti River and the rugged mountain terrain.

En route, visit the following significant attraction:

Dhankar Monastery: Perched precariously on a cliff edge, Dhankar Monastery is a spectacular sight. Explore its ancient prayer halls and soak in the panoramic views of the valley below. This historic monastery was once the capital of the Spiti Kingdom.

Upon arrival in Tabo, check into your hotel. After settling in, you can explore the renowned Tabo Monastery.
